Ashtanga Yoga is a definite sequence of various Hatha Yoga Asanas or poses that are coupled with a certain set of breathing techniques called ‘Ujjayi Pranayama’. This sequence was developed by the famous Hatha Yoga Master of the 20th century - Yogi K Pattabhi Jois. The source of Ashtanga yoga Primary Series is an ancient Hatha yoga text known as ‘Yoga Korunta’. This ancient series of yoga is practiced with synchronized breathing techniques (Vinyasa) that promotes ‘flow of breathe’ in the asana or pose practice. Together, this is called Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga Style.
Eight Limb Of Ashtanga Yoga Course !
The Ashtanga Yoga or ‘Eight Limb Yoga’ system of Patanjali is the most famous and complete yoga system all over the world. Sage Patanjali introduced this system in the famous yoga text ‘Patanjali Yoga Sutra’ around 3000 years ago.
Patanjali was well-versed in all the existing yoga styles and he saw a great confusion present all across the world, as all the principles of yoga were scattered in different books. Patanjali decided to bring them all together in a cohesive manner, so as to develop a perfect and non-fallible system. It means that if one follows all the eight limbs of yoga as mentioned by Patanjali, S/he will start seeing their spiritual & mental growth.
This system also predicts the outcome of various yoga poses mentioned by Sage Patanjali.
