Ayurveda, “Ayur” means life and “Veda” for knowledge in Sanskrit – is the science of life. Ayurveda is one of the oldest medical systems in the world, born here in India. During your consultancy your “Dosha” will be determined by an Ayurvedic Doctor from Vata, Pitta and Kapha. You will be advised on the best nutrition, therapies, treatments and lifestyle changes according to your dosha in order to follow a personalised wellbeing path during your stay with us and beyond.

Abhyanga massage is a full body, soft oil massage using the incorporation of steam. The skin is our largest organ and in order to function properly needs to be efficient in releasing toxins and absorbing nourishment from the tissues of the body. The Abhyanga Ayurvedic oil massage will support increased circulation, especially to nerve endings, lubrication of the joints and toning of the muscles. When performed daily can contribute towards restful sleep, increased stamina, a sharper mind and improved elimination of toxins from the body. Recommended to accompany detox, cleansing or fasting retreats.

Ayurvedic yoga massage combines elements of deep tissue oil massage using hands & feet, assisted yoga stretches and deep, coordinated breath-work. Ayurvedic Yoga Massage is performed on a mat allowing for a full range of stretching. Tensions of all manners are stored in the body, unresolved and so Ayur Yoga Massage allows these tensions to be dissolved and eliminated, restoring your natural flow of energy, eliminate toxins, correct body alignment and improve breathing. Recommended to accompany detox, cleansing or fasting retreats.

Shiro meaning head and dhara meaning flow. An Ayurveda therapy that involves continuously pouring warm, herbal oil over the forehead; also known as the Ajna Chakra. An area of highly concentrated nerves & containing the circulation of our vital life force, or prana. The flow of oil onto the forehead creates a vibration whilst the oil saturates the forehead and scalp, penetrating deep into the nervous system. The gentle pressure and soothing warmth of the oil will allow the body, mind and nervous system to experience a deep state of rest, only comparable with deep meditation. Balancing the mind, stabilizing emotions and healing the body

Fully relax during your Indian Head Massage treatment. Massage techniques based solely on therapeutic touch over the scalp, head, face and shoulders to induce deep relaxation. Aiming to restore balance by working with the three higher chakras. Vishuddha, our throat chakra, Ajna, also known as our third eye and Sahasrara, our crown chakra. Focusing on areas of the body that hold the most stress, your tension will melt away leaving a sense of total calm. Leaving you with a sense of light being

Foot reflexology is one of the oldest treatments known to human kind, practiced for thousands of years all over the world. Its basic concept is that every point or part of the foot is directly related to other part of the body. In this way we can treat the whole body by treating the correlated points on the foot. This treatment is grounding and relaxing. Every point in the feet is related to different line of energy, which passes throughout the body, and by pressing this point we can release energy blockages and restore the natural flow of energy

Combining a variety of massage techniques and knowledge our therapist will tailor design a therapy suitable for your needs. This may include shiatsu and acupuncture/hot cups or acupuncture with aromatherapy. The benefits are a holistic treatment designed to soothe and relieve chronic pains, stress & many other ailments. Acupuncture / etheric oils / hot cups can be added to this treatment.

Relaxing oil massage, with essential oils. In this treatment we want to work on deep relaxation of body and mind while working with different techniques, to stimulate the lymphatic system, muscles and the skin. The skin is the biggest organ of the body. Putting oil on it allows toxins to be released from the body and nourishment to be absorbed.

Using different oils and essential oils, according to your needs will help you relax whilst nourishing and energizing your body and mind

A classic full body massage using coconut oil, helping to release tight muscles, circulate the blood & reduce tension. The Swedish massage is not about focusing on certain groups of muscles but more on the whole body. Based on the western concepts of anatomy and physiology, as opposed to energy work on meridians or sen lines that are the focus in Asian massage systems. A Swedish massage is a good fit for beginners to massage therapies. Acupuncture / etheric oils / hot cups can be added to this treatment.

"Thai massage" or "Thai yoga massage" is an ancient healing system combining acupressure, Indian Ayurvedic principles, and assisted yoga postures. Traditional Thai massage uses no oils or lotions and you will remain clothed. There is constant body contact, but rather than muscle massage, the body is compressed, pulled, stretched and rocked. The massage generally follows designated energy lines in the body, called Nadi’s. The gentle stimulation of these lines relaxes the body, unleashing the life force within you.

Aromatherapy massage is a massage therapy using base oils or lotions that contain essential oils (highly concentrated plant based oils). During aromatherapy massage you inhale these essential oil molecules & absorb them through your skin. Oils promote beneficial changes in your mind & body by affecting the limbic system, a region in the brain that influences our nervous system.

    • The Benefits of Aromatherapy Massage:

During aromatherapy massage, the skin is warmed and the blood is drawn to the surface, increasing circulation and encouraging the elimination of toxins from the body, which has the consequence of speeding up recovery time from any illness or injury. The manipulation of the muscles continues the process, whilst at the same time releasing tense knotted muscles by dispersing the buildup of lactic acid which often occurs after exercise. As the circulation increases, the oils are absorbed through the skin and carried round the body, allowing their healing effects to permeate to all the major body organs.usually the massage will be slow and gentle and living one with in a deep relaxation state.it is much recommended to anxiety or stress issue's.

Deep tissue massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue. Deep tissue massage uses many of the same movements and techniques as Swedish massage, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as it works to release chronic muscle tension or "knots" as well on trigger points.

The massage shouldn't hurt, but it's likely to be a bit more uncomfortable than a classic Swedish massage. You should always feel free to speak up if the pressure is too much for you. If the pressure is more than you can comfortably take, you might unconsciously tense up, guarding your body from pain. This makes it harder for the therapist to achieve results.

    • Benefits

treats chronic back pain / slipped disks / sciatica problems
    lowers high blood pressure
reduces stress, muscle tension and anxiety

Shiatsu is a Japanese form of healing based on Chinese philosophy and medicine principles. Shiatsu works with the meridians, lines of energy, the first thing that is created in our body according to Chinese belief. Different meridians are connected to different organs in our body and carry certain physical / energetic / mental responsibility. The only major symptom is stagnation of chi which is the energy that assembles everything. The purpose of Zen – Shiatsu will be to find the block and move the chi.

Shiatsu massage therapy relies on the use of fingers, thumbs and palm, forearm and knees to apply pressure to various areas of the body’s surface, helping to heal common ailments and conditions, correcting imbalances in the body. Pressure applied to points on the body promotes energy flow and corrects dis-harmonies throughout. In addition to being a deeply relaxing experience. This massage is given fully clothed.

    • HOT CUPS

Cupping is a therapy used in traditional Chinese medicine to remove stagnation and stimulate the flow of Chi. An ancient and traditional form of treatment using glass cups where by an internal vacuum is being created through heat. The glass, after being placed on the body draws impurities to the surface removing toxins & contributing to healing. This treatment is best added onto a massage treatment. Please note this treatment will leave marks to the skin that will be visible

A treatment coming from the Chinese medicine system. This treatment involves small needles that are inserted into different points of the body. Acupuncture works with the meridians, channels rooted in the body, within our meridians flows the chi-energy of life. In Chinese medicine disharmony of the chi flow is the reason for all problems and the treatment purpose is to diagnose the blocked chi and to re-open it. Meridians are connected to the different organs and to the 5 elements in Chinese medicine, carrying different physical and mental responsibility. The needles are in place for 25 minutes at least & can support healing of many different ailments.

Hypnosis is a state of deep relaxation, similar to deep sleep. It is a science to work with the subconscious mind. The Subconscious Mind is 6000 times more powerful than the conscious mind and it is also nine times bigger than the conscious mind. Our roots lie in the Subconscious Mind. Hypnotherapy is a way to access the Subconscious Mind for maximising our abilities to fulfill our dreams. This is a truly beautiful and lovely place to spend your time in Goa. I was on a yoga retreat while I was staying at Devarya Wellness and the spirit and the thoughts behind the place matched the yoga practice I was attending and living after while I was staying there. For each meal I had great vegetarian food - and if you are a vegan it’s not a problem at all to live by it there - the people that worked at Devarya seemed very happy, they did not use plastic bottles to protect the environment and the service was really good. Devarya is a beautiful place with exotic plants and flowers and at nighttime there is these light chains that makes the place magical. I will definitely recommend to stay at Devarya Wellsness specially if you are sourcing to find peace and grounding and live in a more sustainable way
